ROOTS IN Kashmir, a frontline organisation of Kashmiri Pandits has strongly crticised the J&K government’s action on the non-violent protestors in Jammu. The government also came in for strong criticism for their manhandling of mediapersons and attacking them with teargas shells.

“The rough treatment meted out to protestors and the Press in Jammu clearly shows the pro-Kashmir bias of the governor NN Vohra. The agitators in Kashmir were allowed to go scot-free for over eight days, despite the presence of separatists like Yasin Malik, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Omar Farooq, Mehbooba Mufti and others. The government stood like a mute spectator and bowed to the wishes of separatists”, said Aditya Raj Kaul, an activist of the organisation.

“On the other hand, in Jammu, they have used every conceivable force and coercion to silence the mass uprising among peaceful Hindus of Jammu. The governor is nothing but an agent of the United Progressive Government (UPA) government at the Centre,” added Rashneek Kher of the Roots In Kashmir.

Common Man on the street: A Hindu protestor shouts slogans against Jammu and Kashmir governor outside the office of a local TV channel which was sealed off by the local government in Jammu, India, Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008.
“By stopping SMSes, blocking news channels, cutting electricity and water supply, the governor has shown that he is even worse than the British imperialists who ruled India decades ago. The double standards of the government have been clearly exposed by the way they have handled the present crisis.” he added.

It seems that the entire milk of human kindness has been reserved for the Kashmiri Muslim separatists while the repressive measures have been effectively tested on people of Jammu.

We would like to remind the government that all repressive measures will be strongly met by non-violent protests. The wave will not be stemmed by highhanded NN Vohra and co-conspirators like Mehbooba Mufti, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Yasin Malik, Mirwaiz Farooq and Omar Abdullah.

Dear Rashneek,
"silence the mass uprising among peaceful Hindus of Jammu."
"repressive measures will be strongly met by non-violent protests"
Keep your hand on your heart and tell me how far have Jammu protests been peaceful. (Think about this: Not even a single yatri was attacked by Kashmiris; Trucks were not burnt in Kashmir;Kashmiri Pundits living there were not attacked during protests; Inhuman action of blockade of essential supplies to Kashmir)
Of the 4 lakh strong Kashmiri Pandits thatstayed in the valley in 1990, now only a few close to 2500 remain scattered... They live in constant fear of terrorists and more of sepratists...
Morethan 200 Yatris and their vehicles were attacked in theentire Yatra.... out of these many were even seriously injured...
in Jammu, its a complete secular movement...Its not just Hindus, but even Muslims, Christians and Sikhs taking part in large numbers...
Hope you take out your blindness glass to see it clear..
in Kashmir they have lost all tollerance... they are not comfortable with the Amarnath yatra and that is the rason why this communal movement is being seen in kashmir against India and its Hindus...
Anonymous........apna nam to batau......Pundit ho ya dogra......India ko chhodo yar....Ham ko kya lena dena hai is se....Mil jul ke rehna seekho.....Dogra, Kashmiri or Ladakhi.......bolo kya bolte ho....
Mr Ajaz,
I will respond to you.
How does it matter to you wheather the blogger was a kashmiri pandit , Dogra or a muslim of jammu. The fact remains that he is an Indian.
And let me tell you the day when your dear ones will be killed by the militants and separatists in the valley like yasin malik or someone like bitta karate then only you would wake up and let me promise you the tragic day will not be far ...So fear that..or
keep waiting till you reach your destiny
Alok
Alok........we seen more than 100 thousand deaths of our beloved Kashmiris (my two cousins included) by your Indian forces. Is it sin to know the identity of people?
The fact is that Jammu and Kashmir is a disputed territory. Let people of Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir decide the future. Even PPl decide for India, Pakistan or Indpendence , the decision should be respected. You are free to choose India. And let those who want to choose Indpependence or Pakistan do that....Why is India scared of this? I am sure India will win this vote...Let us do it....kya bolte ho Alok bhai....sea food kha ke mote nahi hona...:)
Let me tell you that all those people who are antinationals and terrorists will meet the same fate.No syampathies. And you handful of separatists keep on crying but fact of the matter is that people of jammu & Kashmir are with India and will remain with India. There has been at elected govt in the state with representations from all the regions of the state. If we keep on holding plebisite everywhere then no country on earth can ever remain united... each state , each city , each mohalla will ask for a plebisite ...how funny ?
If separatists are so confident of their support why dont they stand up in the elections in kashmir jammu and Ladakh win it and then make their claim. They will not dare to do so because they know they will be exposed.
So please wake up. Shun this madness of separatism and voilence, understand the reality ,support indain forces to curtail terrorism, bring all mislead pleople in main stream, win back the trust of the kashmiri pandits whom you forced to leave the valley, remove article 370, thereby allowing big companies like TATA , Realiance , Infy , TCS not only Indian companies but also multinationals like wallmart , siemens and the list goes on ..to invest in J&K ,make it as an open market for sectors like Service, IT , Energy , Real estate , infra , which would generate tremendous amount of technology, awareness, employement and above all it will allow young people to dream for their bright future. Allow yourself and your brothers to have dreams of prosperity, allow the young kashmiris to prosper with growing India , allow your kashmiri brothers(muslims)to be benifited from this development boom in India ...Or else you will continue blogging in this website till your beard turns white..
As far as food in Seoul is concerned ..pareshan hoon yaar
Alok
Lol......kaho to kuch khurak bejdenge...
Alok, trust me, it is not just economic issue. Kashmiris, (pundits and Muslims) are genius when they work outside. The issue is a political one.For you it may be ok to have divided kashmir but for Kashmiris divided kashmir is not acceptable. If Indian govt is confident of wining the vote, why is it hesitating to conduct the referendum.Let ppl decide for India, Pakistan or Independence. At least the issue will be resolved for ever. Economic packages may solve the issue for some period but again there will trouble after 60 yrs. Let us work for a final settlement.
Ajaz miyan,
you did not answer any of the points raised by me... either you dont read what ohers write or you have no answer .. So please read first .. think for a while peacefully and then reply point to point...By the way one personal question if you dont mind " What do you do ?"
Alok
To Alok.....Point by Point..
"Let me tell you that all those people who are antinationals and terrorists will meet the same fate."...Britishers also called Bhagat Singh as terrorist but that does not make him terrorist as he as opposing an unjust rule. Terrorist for one is the Freedom fighter for others.By definition, terrorist is one who spreads terror among unarmed citizens. Do a survey in Kashmir and ask common people, randomly, who has been spreading terror. You will get one answer....Indian forces....Your security forces are terrorists for us. (I am not denying that many militants acted as terrorists, but comparably ngeligible)
"people of jammu & Kashmir are with India and will remain with India".....If it true, then why is India scared of holding referendum. Doodh ka doodh pani ka pani.Let the whole world know that Jammu and Kashmir people want to be India and the matter will get solved for ever. After this I will kick out the United Naitons out of Kashmir which Indian govt has not been able to do in the last 60 yrs.
"If we keep on holding plebisite everywhere then no country on earth can ever remain united... each state , each city , each mohalla will ask for a plebisite ...how funny ?"......You cannot hold plebesite in other states cause you dont have United Nations resolutions passed for those states. The other states do not have United Nations Millitary offices located in the capital.
"If separatists are so confident of their support why dont they stand up in the elections in kashmir jammu and Ladakh win it and then make their claim. They will not dare to do so because they know they will be exposed.".....Elections cannot be substitute for plebicite.Elections are conducted under Indian constition and Plebisite under UNO mandate. How can they take part in elections? Firs of all you cannot call them Separatist. We are not separating from India since we were never a part of India. We were forcbily made their part. Even Hindu Maharaja, never wanted to be part of India. That is the reason he did not make decision till Oct 1947.
Hello Mr.Aijaz Sahib.
I suppose this blog is launched and augmented by the creatures who are born to hate Kashmiri people, irrespective of any plausible reasons. Here every passage and every verse is full of communal tint and malic against those innocent people who have suffered more than exiled pandits of the Valley. I had every sympathy with the Kashmiri Pandits and was willing for their early return to be embrassed by our warm arms but now we may have to think. afte watching this blog.I had heard about Roots in Kashmir but never expected that such a malic , illwil and grudge is there in store for us.It is really disgusting.....
I loved my kashmiri Brotheren irrespective of caste, creed and race but this site has hurt my feelings...
Thankx
Mr T&M
I ask you a very simple question. Just tell me if you were a kashmiri pandit would you have reacted the same as you did? Please try to understand the deep pain which Kashmiri pandits have which bursts out in this anger which you feel in these posts. So its your duty, duty of young kashmiri muslims atleast to acknowledge their pain and not to rub salt on wounds when you say say for e.g " Kashmiri people left the valley just because Jagmohan told them , Just think a bit ...Is is possible that 4 lakh people will leave together leaving behind their home, property, business, gardens and above all thier land just because some one tells them " Will not such kind of statements hurt...
What do you tell a young kashmiri Pandit boy who just does not fully remember kashmir because he was too young when he was forced to leave the valley but whose mother and father all full of tears when ever they see streets of kashmir valley in TV ... Just try to imagine what must be going through the mind of the boy who sees his parents sheading tears even after 19 years of exile...
